Back pain? Gone. Throat soreness? Gone. Headache? Gone.

Sunday night, I had a three hour rehearsal for Spur. Monday night, I had a two hour rehearsal for Spur. Tonight, I have a three hour rehearsal for Spur. Tomorrow, three hours for Manginah, Thursday, three hours for Spur. Saturday Spur hosts an ICCA show (think Figure Skating competition, only pitchpipes instead of ice skates and “doom-ja-get-nows” instead of triple lutzes). Sunday, I get to relax with three hours of Manginah and then three hours of Spur.

Monday, I explode.

My throat hurts. My head hurts. My back hurts.

I think my mom would suggest that I should be thankful at least I’m alive and able to sense the pain.

    Ow. Hooray.

Manginah’s World Tour of the East Coast Part 2 is over. Three days, seven shows, and about a dozen trips over the George Washington Bridge later, I’m tired and sore… But we made the group quite a bit of money, and we brought some fun happy music to the masses.

I’m too young to have back pain, but today I do. I wonder if sleeping on the floor one night and on a three foot long sofa another night could have anything to do with it.

    Nah.

My mom thinks all I post about is food. That’s pretty much true.

I was hungry come dinner time this evening. Went to Sherman, the Kosher dining hall with the mostest, with Rafi and Lauren. Ate a lot.

By “a lot,” I mean two pastrami-hamburger combos, one pastrami sandwhich with honey mustard, and one roll. Rafi ate one double burger, two turkey sandwhichs, one pastrami sandwhich, and a small man who wandered near the table. We love eating.

My housemate Brian and I presented a “movement piece” for our Movement For The Stage class. (Is is just me, or does “movement piece” sound a little bit crass?) Our piece involved his being dressed as a woman and my being both the boy who dumped him/her and then later, the doctor who treated him/her post-his/her heart attack, and then fell in love with him.

The scene, as you can imagine, was an incredible success. Brian is still in character, meaning he wants to make babies with me, but this has to end sometime.

From an email to my parents:

    I am awesome.

I made hamburgers. Not veggie imitation burgers. The real deal. I started with the raw dead cow pieces, added egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, barbecue sauce, and a little bit of love… And the result was truly incredible dead cow patties. Seriously, even if I hadn’t been the maestro chef, I would have enjoyed these burgers. They put the “mmmm” in “hammmmburger.” I am awesome. I ate two and made myself stop; the other three will be dinner, breakfast, and dessert in the next 24 hour period.

    I made steak! I rule!

After a quick phone call to Mom to figure out what exactly “broiling” entails, I plopped my juicy steak in the oven and less than ten minutes later… ate it.

It was good. I was good.

I am Man. Hear me roar with steak-filled goodness!

New column posted. Note from Lex almost a full year after this entry was blogged: This column, I believe in retrospect, is one of my finest.

What a weekend! Friday was the Cheesecake Factory, The Royal Tenenbaums (”good flick”), and Memento (”great flick”).

Saturday was a fun lunch date with a friend, Kosher Chineese dinner, bonding, and the return of Mario Party with Lauren and Rafi.

Today, after my Manginah show, I’ll think I’ll just watch TV… Flip through and look for a game or something.
