Thank you, Redskins

The Washington Redskins lost today, which regular readers know I was rooting for.

(When the Redskins lose their last home game before a presidential election, the incumbent or incumbent’s party has always lost the election; when they’ve won their last home game prior, the incumbent has always won.)

On top of that, every single time the Red Sox have won a world series in an election year, the incumbent seeking reelection has always lost. It happened in 1912 when William Howard Taft didn’t get reelected… and so, we’re one for one.
