On the West Wing series finale
May 14, 2006 on 9:13 pm | In TelevisionNo Toby? No answer as to “who the hell leaked to Toby the information that he then leaked?” One line for Rob Lowe? No Danny? No Zoe? No lines from Alan Alda?
Eh.

I missed seeing Toby’s reaction to getting the pardon, if not an actual scene with Bartlett.
Other than that, it was enough for me to know that CJ was getting on a plane and Danny was meeting her on the other side.
The episode was quiet and kind of simple because (I think) that’s the way we change power in this country. I loved seeing the actual process of moving one President out and another in, and Donna’s reaction to seeing her office…no character deserved it more. Boyfriend and the to-die-for office.
Did I miss something in an earlier episode? What was Mary McCormack’s character going to? Was she moving to Oregon with Will?

Hi Judi!
We agree on Toby’s absence being lousy. You’re right; a scene with Bartlett himself would have been great.
I wasn’t wowed by CJ’s having Danny waiting at LAX; we already knew how their story ended courtesy of the season opener.
I think you’re right though, the nice, smooth, quiet way we change power in this country is nice, and perhaps TWW was celebrating that calm shift.
Mary McCormack’s character mentioned last week that she was planning to stay in DC, and that she may well be offered a job by the Santos administration. Apparently that hadn’t happened yet, since she packed up. But no, I don’t think she’s going with Will, because she said last week that she wouldn’t, but that he should.
