Lex, Dr. Fitness, and the Fat Guy

August 15, 2008 on 6:20 am | In Work

I was interviewed on yesterday’s episode of Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy, an Atlanta-based radio show.

If you have a lot of time, and a bit of patience, you can check it out on iTunes. I appear a little more than 12 minutes in, and am on for about 20 minutes. The interview was fun.

The hardest part was that some of the questions required long answers. As they were asking, I tried to think of the simplest way to give some of the answers, but knew that they’d be wordy nonetheless. Next time, I’d work even harder of the Cliff Noting.

Oh, John Edwards. You cheated on your wife, whose health was failing, and who had steadfastly devoted herself to you for years. You sound like a Republican.

I’ve been a big fan of Randy’s since his initial Internet burst of fame with his “Last Lecture.” I’ve since watched all his online lectures, bought his book, and saved that Last Lecture for my kids to watch when they’re old enough to appreciate it.

Randy finally died yesterday. But I don’t think the cancer won.

  • I like my iPod touch

The subject really says it all. But I’m quite pleased with the purchase, and already find that I’m using my laptop measurably less. It (the iPod) is a great little device. One day I will no doubt be a true iPhone owner, but given how rarely I leave the house and our existing stellar contract with TMobile, I just can’t justify that purchase of the phone right now…

As you may recall, I’m involved in a songwriting contest.

My friends, the time has come to vote for me again.

This time, we were asked to write songs comparing two nouns (from lists the contest’s sponsors provided). The song also had to be at least 1:45 long, and had to feature a syllable repeated five consecutive times, on at least three separate occasions during the song.

You can hear the song, and vote for it if it’s your favorite (it is), right here.

My friend and colleague David Wong pointed me towards a new and delightful meme.

The first article title on this page is the name of your band.

The last four words of the very last quote on this page form the title of your album.

The third picture shown here is your album cover.

And thus I humbly present my hit album:
