Music and Videos
Lex Friedman does funny things.
He records songs, some of which he makes videos for. Here are songs which lack videos but not appeal:
Angry Fatso
The Internet’s Out
Empty Box
Kelly Clarkson
Here are songs with have both video and appeal. Especially video.
What’s a TiVo? - one of my more celebrated tunes, devoted to my favorite PVR. Won $5000 cash, plus a free dual-tuner Series 2 TiVo with free lifetime subscription. Not to mention a set of TiVo-branded baby clothes. And then an HD television, Slingbox, router, and laptop.
A Jew Sings the Songs of Christmas
Just Google - a parody of “Beat It” by Michael Jackson, about everyone’s favorite search engine.
Too Weird - a bizarre experiment in a cappella and improvised comedy.
Catch 22 - a song about the number of words (and characters, and sentences) in the novel.
What a Wonderful Word - The “Bitch” Song - a music video discussing when the word “bitch” was first used on television. A parody of “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
Every Episode of The Gummi Bears - a song that lists every single one.
Tom Hanks: The Rap - a humorously profane look at my motherBLEEPer, and everyone’s favorite everyman actor.
If I’m On YouTube - a parody of “With or Without You” by U2, about success on YouTube.
Knowledge Back (The WeHow Song) - a parody of “Sexy Back” by Justin Timberlake, devoted to the website WeHow.com.
Rosh Sharona - devoted to Rosh HaShana, the Jewish new year, and parodying “My Sharona” by The Knack. Yahoo! one day put this song on their homepage, for some reason.
The Anger Rap - a rap all about — surprise! — anger.
How Does A Barcode Reader Work - another rap, whose subject is self-explanatory.
Acetylated Distarch Adipate: The Musical - Another video to which the “bizarre” label applies. Features guest star/wife Lauren Friedman, as “woman.”
William Howard Taft - a song devoted to the 27th president of the USA.
Bob Dylan’s Five-Six - How often have you wondered about the singer/songwriter’s height? Wonder no longer!
BTW Means By The Way - my first music video on YouTube, explaining a confusing Internet acronym.
And, there are even a few videos that aren’t songs.
The Lex Friedman News Episode #2 - an early predecessor to what became The News on Cracked, which became the Week in Douchebaggery. There’s also The Lex Friedman News Episode #1
